Meditation – Spiritual Healing

For the past few years I’ve dealt with Chronic Urticaria (Hives), have had allergy tests, been to allergists, dermatologists, a nephrologist (kidney doctor), multiple emergency rooms and to no avail. Only but to gain weight from multiple prednisone (steroid) treatments and other prescription drugs that did not cure the problem at root.

This started happening after my boyfriend, now fiancés 5-year old sister was diagnosed with AML Leukemia. We were there at the hospital every week during the 9 months following the diagnosis to the last day of her life. On top of this tragedy, we were going through financial issue at that time which caused stress. I did not know how to deal with my stress internally which I have come to find out affected my body’s hormonal balance.

I started to do research my own after being tired of the continuous hives, I paid attention to the times when the hives were at it’s worse – which was prior to, during and right after my monthly cycle. This led me to research hormonal imbalances.

I had my OB doctor prescribe a hormone test which was sent to a lab and showed all of my hormones were very low. This was the cause of the hives. My stress levels had totally through off my body’s hormone levels. I started a treatment of the following: Progesterone (prescription) along with these vitamins: Omega-3 Fish Oil, Adrenal, DHEA (Pure encapsulations), Vitamin B and D3 and Probiotics (Metagenics UltraFlora Balance). I also take lots of Vitamin C and every morning before work I drink 2 tablespoons of Bragg Unfiltered Raw Apple Cider Vinegar, 1 cup warm water and honey (add to your own tasting) in order to cleanse my body.

I am still on my journey to being healed, but have come a long way from when this medical issue first introduced itself. Prior to all the stress and hives, I used to listen to Soundscapes music, write poetry/inspirational quotes almost every night and practice yoga with meditation. My New Year resolution is to get back to those things that kept me at peace and I hope this will put you also into that zone of spiritual completeness.

I came up with my own meditation mantra:
Everything is good – I am good
I Love – I am Loved
I Give – I Receive
Everything is good – I am good
I Learn – I Teach
I Listen – I Speak
Everything is good – I am good

Physical Benefits of Meditation

With meditation, the physiology undergoes a change and every cell in the body is filled with more prana (energy). This results in joy, peace, enthusiasm as the level of prana in the body increases.

On a physical level, meditation:

  • Lowers high blood pressure
  • Lowers the levels of blood lactate, reducing anxiety attacks
  • Decreases tension-related pain, such as, tension headaches, ulcers, insomnia, muscle and joint problems
  • Increases serotonin production that improves mood and behavior
  • Improves the immune system
  • Increases the energy level, as you gain an inner source of energy

Mental Benefits of Meditation

Meditation brings the brainwave pattern into an relaxed state that promotes healing. The mind becomes fresh, delicate and beautiful. With regular practice of meditation:

  • Anxiety decreases
  • Emotional stability improves
  • Creativity increases
  • Happiness increases
  • Intuition develops
  • Gain clarity and peace of mind
  • Problems become smaller
  • Meditation sharpens the mind by increasing focus and expands through relaxation
  • A sharp mind without expansion causes tension, anger and frustration
  • An expanded consciousness without sharpness can lead to lack of action/progress
  • The balance of a sharp mind and an expanded consciousness brings perfection

Meditation makes you aware – that your inner attitude determines your happiness.

 * What has been the toughest thing you faced in the works of getting your line up & running?

Definitely doing it all on my own. Im taking the entrepreneur approach. And being self taught in sewing and not having any fashion school background I’ve endured the hardships of building everything I have from the ground up. But, thats what they say isn’t it… Entrepreneurs are those people who will endure the extra hard years for a life they truly want and deserve.

* What are your aspirations | goals with the line?

To make my Brand a household name.. As a designer I also do styling and creative directing. And more I want my brand to become a well known name in fashion like Versace or McQueen, not just clothing but much more than that.

 * Give us a brief description of the line. What types of pieces have you created thus far:

Well, the “Haleter” of D.haleter is french. It means to be at a loss of breath or to gasp. And that is what I consider my clothing, breath taking. I design cloths for the the trend setters the statement makers. The people who aren’t afraid to raise a few eyebrows and turn a few heads. In a good way of course. Luxury ready to wear clothing with an edge. I design a little of everything from urban wear to swimwear, gowns and outerwear.

Fitness | FAQs – Pre & Post-Workout Nutrition

Hey Fran Hey & FollowTheLita give a breakdown for those who are looking to start the New Year with fitness and healthy eating.

Through my own experiences, I get tons of energy with Essential Amino Energy as my pre-workout (I can literally last up to 2-3 hours in the gym). Once I get home from my workout, within 30 minutes I make my post-workout shake with Whey Protein, almond milk and frozen berries (I add chia seeds and fiber powder sometimes as well).

A month ago I added Trim Tuf to my regimen, and noticed 3-5lbs lost within  the first two weeks. See more about the tea product at http://trimtuf.bigcartel.com

Healthy and natural ways to detox and lose weight:

1-2 tablespoons of Bragg Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) with a glass of room to warm temperature water first thing in the morning.

Drink 2-3 cups a day of Green Tea which boosts your metabolism.

Greek yogurt which has protein for building muscle & preparing tissue, probiotics, B12 for energy and Iodine which is important for proper thyroid function and Calcium which has been linked to regulation of the body’s cortisol output to name a few benefits.
