The Netflix series…

In a world where white is considered of the ‘norm’ and everything outside of that dominion is different – society needs eye/mind openers such as shows like this which gives face to the insides of the multi-faceted truths of black people.

* Racism is an ugly truth that will forever be a factor in this world as long as white people continue to feel and force their supremacist terrorism on any persons who are not of their group.

Black Lives Matter – Beyonce -Our Voices

BLACK LIVES MATTER

Well put. Blacks (we) are so tired of racism which has been forcefully shoved down our throats since whites invaded Africa. Our voices are what is needed to be heard, understood, felt and actions taken upon. I don’t care about what that host Tomi Lauren had to say about how Beyonce’s performance was “unfair to little white girls who like her music”… This wasn’t for them – it was for us BLACKS! – and only for whites to take notes.

Black people are fed up w/ AmeriKKKa and the rest of this racist world. We birthed these people as the original creation of God – the Black Woman & Man *** Dates back to Kemet (Egypt) when the Greeks invaded, stole our systems of mathematics, science and spirituality.

Their fear of our greatness has always been the driving force for their hatred.

Chi-Raq

Message – In theaters now!

The Black Struggle – Black Lives Matter – Black Women – Black Men

I have not yet seen the movie, but some natives of Chicago, IL are not big fans of this film. As stated in the Chicago Tribune:

“So after all of the fighting, name-calling and political wrangling over the film’s title, “Chi-Raq” fails to illuminate the lives of the many Chicagoans who go to bed with the sound of gunfire outside their windows and wake up to the news of yet another murder. While critics have hailed the satirical film as a victory for Lee, Chicagoans go home empty-handed”.

Me personally, I think all the cast for this film should have came directly from Chicago. I remember the casting calls for Straight Outta Compton – the casting calls were done in Gardena, Compton – areas where real blacks in the struggle, who knew first hand resided. Unfortunately, this film seems to have a lot of big Hollywood names.

But, I commend Spike Lee for shedding light on an issue black communities across the United States deal with on a daily – gun violence.

Aaliyah – Rock The Boat

Just watched the Lifetime Aaliyah movie and I was not happy with the acting. The family and those who closely worked with Aaliyah were not involved with the production or content of this film – and should have not been made without those who truly knew Aaliyah.

The film did not feel genuine and the actors did not play the roles to full capacity. It was apparent the artists Aaliyah, R. Kelly, Dame, Timbaland and Missy were not studied by the actors. On top of that, the actors who played Timbaland & Missy couldn’t be more off – Missy at that time, was a heavy set brown skinned woman – the actress looked nothing like Missy and they put darker make-up on her instead of casting someone who looked the part.

With that said, the Aaliyah movie was a failure.

R.I.P. Baby Girl – You are missed.
