The ABC network is adding a a splash of color to their line-up this fall with their new comedy Black-ish starring Tracee Ellis Ross, Anthony Anderson, and Laurence Fishburne. The new show follows an upper-middle class black family who lives in white suburbia, and focuses on the battle they face daily to blend in the world around them while holding on to their black culture.
Andre Johnson has a great job, a beautiful wife, Rainbow, four kids, and a colonial home in the ‘burbs. But has success brought too much assimilation for this black family? With a little help from his dad, Dre sets out to establish a sense of cultural identity for his family that honors their past while embracing the future.
I am not a fan of mainstream television, it is just a way to keep a majority of society dumb and blind to things that really matter. Most shows which are made up of a black family on networks like NBC consists of racist undertones whether be little or big.
But, we will see how this show turns out.
