Black Lives Matter – Beyonce -Our Voices

BLACK LIVES MATTER

Well put. Blacks (we) are so tired of racism which has been forcefully shoved down our throats since whites invaded Africa. Our voices are what is needed to be heard, understood, felt and actions taken upon. I don’t care about what that host Tomi Lauren had to say about how Beyonce’s performance was “unfair to little white girls who like her music”… This wasn’t for them – it was for us BLACKS! – and only for whites to take notes.

Black people are fed up w/ AmeriKKKa and the rest of this racist world. We birthed these people as the original creation of God – the Black Woman & Man *** Dates back to Kemet (Egypt) when the Greeks invaded, stole our systems of mathematics, science and spirituality.

Their fear of our greatness has always been the driving force for their hatred.

NFL – Domestic Abuse – No More Campaign

I did not watch the Super Bowl, but I did watch this episode of DemocracyNow!

FYI: The NFL (Nonprofit Football League) has not paid any taxes since 1966 and average Americans are left paying higher taxes to make up for that lost revenue.

The NFL has spent decades covering up domestic violence and now attempts to put up a conscious front. This league is only out to make billions at any cost.

NFL’s Ray Rice: Domestic Abuse

ray-riceBaltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice has been cut by his football team and indefinitely suspended by the National Football League after a video showed him punching his then-fiancée into unconsciousness. The footage, from February, was released Monday by the tabloid website TMZ. The details of the case have been known for months after a previous video from a different angle showed Rice dragging the unconscious woman out of an elevator and dropping her face-first on the ground. The Baltimore Ravens had defended Rice, while the NFL’s first response in July was to suspend him for just two games. A massive public outcry led NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to apologize and change the league’s domestic violence policy.

Watch the video as Democracy Now critiques the NFL’s history of disregard for violence against women by it’s players.

NFL Reaches Settlement With Former Players Who Suffer From Brain Injuries, Alzheimer’s, Depression

The National Football League has reached a settlement with former players who accused it of profiting from the sport’s violence, while hiding the risks of concussions and repeated hits to the head. On Thursday, the NFL agreed to a $765 million payout to all past NFL players and the spouses of those who have already died. The settlement stems from a lawsuit filed by than 4,500 former players, some of whom suffer from brain injuries, Alzheimer’s disease and depression. This comes as the 2013 season football season kicks off for the NFL, colleges and high schools across the country. “I hope that the tremendous amount of publicity that’s been generated by this lawsuit will cause coaches and parents to think in a much more healthy way about how to take care of these kids and how to protect them and how to recognize the symptoms of concussions when they occur,” says Bill Littlefield, host of NPR’s “Only a Game,” who has followed the issue of concussions in sports for the past decade.
